Unsuccessful webmasters think like...
Think about what makes a website awesome to you. Before spending money or SEO things, think of the readers who are visiting your blog. How you can help make their life easier. Great websites give pleasure by:
1. Full Mobile Friendly
By now, you have probably dealt with a website that doesn't operate or load on a mobil device. When a client is wanting to buy they are probably on their cell phones. Studies say that as of May 2013, 63% of adult cell phones users use their phones to go online, according to the new survey by Pew Research Center's Internet and American Life Project. 34% of cell phone users go online mostly using their phones, and not using some other device such as a desktop or laptop computer. 91% of all Americans now own a cell phone, this means that 57% of all American adults are cell internet users. The proportion of cell owners who use their phone to go online has doubled since 2009. So Make sure you have that function when deciding site builders.
2. Customize Your Template
No matter what website builders you choose or type of website you need - customize your template! A website template (or web template) is a pre-designed webpage, or set of HTML webpages that anyone can use to "plug-in" their own text content and images into to create a website. By customizing your template you are standing apart from everyone else because you already get pre-built templates but to stay away from seeing the same one change it up a bit. Change colors and moving page elements around to where you can make it yours. For Example, Weebly has a drop and drag editors making it easy to customize your site.
3. Implement SEO Practices
The Best Way to push out your page and really make it stand out is to make sure it comes up when clients search. Basically every page needs to be search engine optimized including product descriptions, images, and page titles.
4. White/Black - Space/Organization
An Important foundation of well written and great looking websites is the use of WHITE/BLACK SPACE - SPACE/ORGANIZATION. Never throw elements around all over where ever. Every element places on the page must have a reason. When placing elements you should feel good about it there and why it's there. Using enough white/black space is important because they are both neutral colors. So it wont strain or hurt the readers eyes, having all sort of variety of colors can mix things up to the reader because their eyes are strained while reading.
