We Are Meant To Be Moving
At some point in your life when you were at a young age you had some massive dreams of what you "wanted to be when you grew up" and sometimes those things don't happen for whatever reasons life throws at you. One thing I was dead set on doing was becoming the next "CROCODILE HUNTER" and I'm sure you know what that is, Steve Irwin! If you follow his daughter Bindi then you know she's doing a great job at that. I remember wanting it so bad and eventually getting my own show! I remember doing so much research on all animals and pushed myself to learn by taking classes in high school, reading on my spare time, and of course watching "The Crocodile Hunter". - duh! Then that changed to being a veterinarian and owning my clinic, few years later I decided to become an animal cop, fast forward a couple more years I was thinking about being an FBI agent, couple more years later I was thinking of working with computers in IT, and then till now I finally knew what I wanted to do, which is what I do today an entrepreneur! Things happen in your life from when you were little till now and all those things decide what you do today, your perspective, mindset, attitude and so much more changes to shape what you wanna do. It took me..well twenty seven (27) years to know what I want to do. no matter what life throws at you just keep dreaming and moving towards that dream.
1. Dream Big
First and foremost when deciding on what you wanna be when you grow up make sure it's something that is just totally precious to you and makes you unconditionally happy no matter what! This is usually a hobby of some sorts because whatever it is it makes you happy because you're simply having fun! If it's spinning plates on your fingers then so be it. If it's being known to eat the most nastiest things on the planet - then do it! It don't matter what I think or anyone else for that matter, as long as you're happy then that's all that matters. Dream big and bigger and never stop moving and never settling! In the comments tell me what your dream is, I'd love to know more about you.
2. Work Hard
If you think this is just going to fall in your lap then you are very stupid, ignorant, and naive. Oh! Let's not forget lazy which i feel is true, that's why I feel people quit. They aren't willing to put forth the effort. It's going to hit you like a ton of bricks! dreams don't come easy and you will quickly understand because the main reason dreams don't ever come true is because majority of the people make excuses, they quit! I'm here to tell you that it wont be easy so if you think that then you just don't want it bad enough. Dreams don't happen over night so it's going to take time. It may take you a day, weeks, months, and years even if its a decade. As long as you're doing something to move forward it don't matter. Just by you doing something whether it's big or small you're passing the others who are just sitting or sleeping. The great thing is that whatever it is it makes you happy so it really don't matter how long it takes you, you're having fun in the process. IT's going to take you sweat, tears, and blood to make this thing happen. So you best not be a little baby! I don't care that you have a migraine. I don't care that you have no transportation. and I don't care if you sleep the day away and no one else really cares either. because at the end of the day it's your dream, not mine. Don't get me wrong because I wanna see you be successful however I am not here to hold your hand. I am here to support what makes you happy and at the same time do me. That's just icing on the cake! You have to continue to be better each day pushing forward to be better than what you were yesterday. You're going to be making sacrifices and it's really going to be a bummer deal. Would you rather party a weekend away drinking at a pool or take that time to research for the next step? Would you rather waste a weekend at clubs getting messed up on drugs or upgrading your equipment? You will learn to "LET GO" because there will be people in your life who bring you down - you can't have that! It's not going to be easy and I hope you understand this. Don't give up!
3. Train Hard
A very wise person told me that practice makes perfect. Well, it totally makes sense. How do you expect to get better if you never start? You can't expect someone else to do it for you because this is all about you. You have to put those hours in, not me. If you don't like challenges then you have another thing coming, it's going to be an ever long journey of challenges and obstacles to overcome. if you thought you were going to continue to be in your comfort zone then you're wrong. You have to get out of that and do things that make you feel uncomfortable because that's our opportunity for growth. You can't expect to get better by doing the same thing over and over so you should get used to change. You will find yourself changing what you do, how you feel, mindset, and so forth because there are multiple ways to figure things out plus that's just insane. there's a good quote on a game called Farcry 3 that says, "Insanity is doing the exact... same fucking thing... over and over again expecting... shit to change." As long as you try something and keep trying new things in your training then you will reach something, so keep pushing. There's things that will come up like hanging with your friends for two hours or taking that time to train. Would you rather sleep an extra two hours or put that time into your future? Remember, its not about the years you have been training but the hours you put in those years.
4. Play Harder
everyone deserves a break every now and again so remember to surround yourself with great and genuine people and do things that you love and enjoy. You can't keep at the grind for too long otherwise you come to a mental block because you gave your brain no time to reboot. You need time to let loose and have some fun. When you come back to making your future you will be refreshed, collected and focused to get back at it. The fun gave a chance to forget about things and live in the now. I feel we are social beings and thrive on the company of others regardless how long you spend with them doing whatever is fun to you.
5. Travel Everywhere and Always
If you have an opportunity to travel somewhere..GO! It don't matter if it's another city, state or country. Traveling to different places makes so much room for growth. When I traveled to California and back packed it for seven days I learned so much in the seven days than I did in that month! It will only bring you to a new level in your training considering it's an entirely new place. You will grow as an individual due to the life lessons. You meet new people who will impact you some way whether it's good or bad. You will gain so much knowledge and wisdom in your practice. It's also a great way to get out of your comfort zone.
6. No Fear, Fear Nothing
we are all afraid of something which I totally get and sometimes that can stop us from pushing forward. It could be heights, spiders, or loosing someone. Just recently I finally got over my fear of water. I was probably around nine years old when I came close to drowning in a river. From that day forward, you never seen me around water until just recently. I finally took the steps to get over my fear of water so for starters swam more by getting a part time job as a pool boy. May as well make money in the process right? and had friends teach me which lead me to experimenting those teachings with my own trials. Remember that progression is the key to conquering fear it's self.
7. Stay Focused
No matter what don't forget what is important to you and how much your dream means to you. There are going to be distractions that occur and it's your priority to stay on track. It's no one's responsibility to make sure you go to work to provide for your hobbies and no one owes you anything. It's not my job to keep reminding you what you need to do. I'm not here to babysit you when you get into a jam because remember I'm doing me too. Always stay focused on how you can be better and how you can reach your goals. Your decisions can determine what happens to you from a day later, week later, month later or even years later. So pay attention to what's important to your happiness.
Well! Now you know what goes through my head on how to stay successful. I feel these seven key points are some great tips to get on the path of growth.
