Rules Now and Rules Later
Rules! Even as a kid, as adolescences, and even adults we have rules that we just have to go by, follow these guidelines and pass THEM ON. When you are growing up your parents probably gave you some sort of rules or guidelines to go by, who remembers washing dishes? I hated washing dishes, even when we had two dishwashers I still had to do them by hand! wHO REMEMBERS TO KEEP YOUR HANDS AND FEET TO YOURSELF? Then you go to school and eventually high school then college and there's all sorts of rules there. Who remembers barely getting homework finished on the due date? I do! Then as adulthood begins with getting careers we have guidelines to go by, like making sure you have the correct dates on the paperwork because that can cause a lot of crap!? Even day to day things like driving we have things called laws, who here has had a speeding citation? These guidelines or rules aren't something you have to go by but it's something that I go by and I feel they can apply to anyone. I'll leave that for you to decide because not everyone is the same and that is a good thing. How boring would this place be if everyone was like me? I may go crazy - haha. There's those who feel happy just coasting through life laying in bed watching Netflix and others who want to be very diligent and intense. As for me I want to be number one, successful and be the best I can be. There's times where I get very serious about my career an what I'm doing with my life this is the same way I felt when I opened Triumph Freerunning Academy. I don't want to just open one gym I want to open multiple gyms! Do multiple things! I want multiple incomes that why no one will ever own me, I can always do my own thing and be happy doing it.
1. Trust Yourself, Guts and All
I'm not talking about doubting yourself, you know what makes you happy. All these young kids are getting so much advice from their parents, teachers, friends, and everyone else. It's good to hear what others have to say, but what's most valuable is when you dig deep, i mean dig deep down and ask yourself "who do you want to be?" not what, but who! "What do you want to do?" not do but see! I'm talking about finding what makes you happy, not what makes your parents or teachers but you! No matter how crazy it sounds to others no matter how who or what anyone thinks.
2. Break the Rules and Pushing Limits
We have so many rules in life about everything and I say break the damn things, what are they put there for anyway? I'm not talking about going out in the middle of the night breaking into a house or stealing because those are laws. break the rules not the laws. It's damn impossible to be a nonconformist or original if you're too well behaved and don't want to break the rules. You HAVE to think outside the box or is it a box? After all, that's what I believe. What's the point of being on this Earth if all you want to do is follow everyone else?
3. Don't Be Afraid to Fail, Be Afraid To Not Try
Anything that I have ever attempted and try I have always been willing to fail. You can't always win but don't be afraid making the steps forward, don't be afraid of falling, and don't be afraid to get into trouble. You can't allow the fear of failure to paralyze you or you will never push yourself to grow. You keep pushing yourself because you have faith and believe in yourself and your vision and with that you are leading yourself to success.
4. Don't Listen To The Hate
I don't think I can count how many times I have heard that I "can't" do this and sometimes multiple times by the same person. How many of you heard "you cant do that" "it's never been done before" because it can be done, thinking outside the box will lead to that and to your vision. If I listened to everyone else I would still be at Aerofil, or somewhere with someone who's watching Netflix and chilling. I never listen to you can't and when someone does tell me, all that does it gives me motivation to prove you wrong. I always listen to myself and I can do anything I want, anything I set my mind to I will do it - with or without you.
5. Work your butt off
I feel this one is very important because you never want to fail when you didn't work your butt off or hard enough. I never want to loose a fight because i didn't train hard enough, or get my promotion because I didn't prepare enough. No one said it was going to be easy and if you thought that then you have a very rude awakening ahead. I never want to go in life not working for anything that I have because everything I have I can say I did it, I put the blood, sweat and tears to get where I am now. as the famous quote "no pain, no gain" how do you expect to gain from something when you did nothing? Now it's great to have some fun from time to time and I'm the biggest big kid you'll know! But when you're out there partying, horsing around with your friends or family there is someone out there at the very same time working hard. Someone is getting smarter and someone is winning, just remember that.
6. Giving Back
I feel this one is very important to go by and truly my favorite and that's giving back to others. Whatever you decide that you're gonna do, whatever path you take in life you must always find time to give back. Whether that's something to your community, your state, or even your county.
