Model, Model, Read All About It!
Just this past year and still getting more involved with photography it's been really hard to find people who want to model for me. I don't really like asking my friends or family members because they don't really have fun with it so if you have friends and family who support you then that's a beautiful thing and you need to keep it. As for me, it's been really tough to find people who enjoy modeling. This could be as far as an inspired model who wants to model and just don't have any experience to someone who is extremely experienced. I can't be more grateful to collaborate and work with MODEL CITIZEN APP!
Modelling is an art. It's a passion. It's about being seen. Model Citizen, believes in recognizing all models, whether they are aspiring, amateur or experienced. Every person who's trying to be a model, or any model who has accumulated a good following and successful in their art knows that it's not easy. Model Citizen's vision is that every fashion model, photographers, makeup artist, hair stylist, blogger, stylist, label, designer, and creative director can be seen, their talent shared, and their potential unearthed. If you are a model or even a photographer who is comfortable and successful in their profession has to start from somewhere, and it takes a colossal amount of guts to put yourself out there for everyone to see. Often, all it takes is greater exposure, and that's what they are hoping to give you. Luckily there are opportunities out there and people to reach who aren't agents and that's Model Citizen app. I love that they are not only for the models but for that whole industry. If you're a hair stylist, make up artist or photographer and anyone in between like creative directors and bloggers like myself! They are here for you.
Who Are They
If you're that person who didn't get hired for that cover on men's magazine or that photographer who just can't get noticed then you are Model Citizens motivation. James and Macky created Model Citizen june 29, 2016 and signed up for an Instagram ( @modelcitizenapp ) searching for models, hair stylists, photographers, bloggers, and anyone else using the hashtags similar to the industry. When they seen a photo that had few likes but seen great potential they felt bad, seriously! They did. If they seen a model with low likes and exposure but felt there was a lot of potential they felt bad, really. With realizing that this trend is much more than what people see on the outside, it's a community and began to search more and more. There are only two people working at Model Citizen and that's James and Macky themselves so if you're interested to know more about what they do when they aren't helping others.
I know it's hard out there and especially for photographers because I feel anyone can be one, but it takes something special to really make it out there. I wish the best of luck to you, all of you. It's tough considering there are so many naysayers out there, just ignore and keep going. The one thing you don't want to do is quit. Keep pushing and keep grinding, you'll get there. I really hope Model Citizen can help you grow and get more exposure.
