Welcome to St. Louis, MO
St. Louis is a major city in Missouri along the Mississippi River. Its iconic, 630-ft. Gateway Arch, built in the 1960s, honors the early 19th-century explorations of Lewis and Clark and America's westward expansion in general. Replica paddlewheelers ply the river, offering views of the arch. The Soulard district is home to barbeque restaurants and clubs playing blues music.
Wisdom Is Not A Product of Schooling But of the Lifelong Attempt to Acquire It.
As much as I hated school when I was younger, ten years later I explore an abandoned school! I would say it was much better considering not having to do homework haha although my homework now is to blog about it! Night or day I have been here so many times now I know the school well enough to know where the auditorium is! I went few times with Ryan, my cousin so be sure to follow him on instagram where he posts daily. I went another few times with some friends to show them because they seen some snap stories on my snapchat! If you aren't my friend then you should be and if you are then lets hang!
We made our way to the highest point of the school and got up on the roof to snag this picture below. If you missed my last weeks WANDERING WEDNESDAY then CLICK ON THE PICTURE to check that out!
Oh No! It's Monday..
I have set aside one day of the week to solely work on this blog with all my focus towards getting content and starting the draft work. Through out the week I write ideas down, brain storm, mini goals to get finished before that day, and more. I've taken every Sunday to get out of the house and explore my city and it's festives all while vlogging and getting photos. My day ends with Saturday night crashing with Ryan to get up early the next morning. So Ryan and I decided to go get our cousin Tyler to bring him to this abandoned school outside of St. Louis and get McDonald's together for breakfast. It was a perfect day to go and explore the school because it wasn't too cold out so shortly after eating breakfast we head to the school and some of us may even be eating still haha.
Recess and Lunch Were the Best
For awhile I had no idea what this school was even called till my last few visits with my god sister, Kate and her friends. Since I have been to the school few times now I pretty much toured the school for Summer, Kate, Hannah, Austin, and their friend Phoenix. We stopped in one of the rooms which contained some sensitive documentation. According to the hand book I found in the office it said since 1967 and not really sure how long it's been abandoned, I couldn't really find much information on it. If you know anything about this school, please let me know what you know in the comments. After spending some time here we moved on and I showed them the rest of the school including the roof.
This Is the End
The school is easy to spot and it's surrounded by a local park and a public feild to play football, baseball or other sports. When Ryan, Tyler and I arrived at the school we parked right in front of the field, so it's real easy to park and be reasonably safe. I feel completly safe here so I have no worries of my car getting broken into or any other sketchy things. Getting into the school is very simple but keep in mind it's very illegal and I don't recommend it. When I explore abandoned sturctures like a school I'm very aware of the risk and I also go in with full respect and there to explore and work. Don't get me wrong, I'm having a lot of fun so it's really not work to me but I am getting all the photos and video I can get for places like these to show you the world in a new perspective, take a look at my newly upgraded portfolio for more photos.
