I Shoot Raw Photos
You may ask what is ISRPhotos? Well. Let's break some things down. What is ISR? ISR is simply "I Shoot Raw" and photos is impressions that a camera captures. So, I Shoot Raw Photos is well, it's you from my understanding. There is a sole person who is a local and might I add, known street portrait photographer in St. Louis that likes to capture the beauty of anyone and keeping it in it's raw state but in all ISR is all of us, the community. If you are a photographer, or maybe a blogger and maybe you dabble in other creative arts like modeling. Heck! If you have a camera even if it's your iPhone, you should be here! No matter what you classify you as you should be going to a photo walk which is just a huge orgy of people who enjoy and have an artistic eye for the creative arts of photography, photojournalism, or even modeling because this is one big way to meet everyone, get to know the community, and collaborate in a fun way!
Check out the last ISRPhoto Walk I went to last year!
Street Photography Only
Lets start off the new year with another #ISRPHOTOWALK with lots of laughter with old faces and new faces! "Street Photography" is the theme of this one. We all met at the Ice Carnival in Delmar Loop in front of Peacock Diner. We all met at 1PM and may I add, definitely NOT in the frigid cold because it's that time of the year. It was super great to meet here because the Loop is a very populated area especially on a Saturday so let's just say our street photography game is on like donkey kong! We started walking at 2PM and met back at 3:30PM to gather up and call it a day, it was only for a couple hours. Now this is a "Street Photography" ONLY. So honestly there is no modeling required however it doesn't mean you can't have your friend bust a pose either although I feel the challenge is to capture real day to day person doing whatever they do subconsciously. Everyone is welcome to join us and try to capture the human condition at this meet up. If you don't have a camera that is totally OK because there is no need because this event welcomes anyone with a creative eye. I'd recommend using your smart phone because you can capture some super fire photos with the basic apple or Android phone, I mean take a look at Peter McKinnon for example with his "Take Better Shots With Your iPhone" video that has over 1.7 million views. You can also just literally come and hang out with everyone and mingle, it's a great way to connect. Take a look at some of the photos I captured along with the other creatives who attended, they all have gorgeous work and an artistic eye.
After a couple hours at the ISR Photo I had to quit early because I had a shift to do at Best Buy so I left for that to get ready and knock my shift out! Every year Best Buy Chesterfield has a night on Sunday nights due to the store closing at eight for bowling. Every year our DM rents out some spaces for us to bowl! It's super great that he does this for us because in reality he doesn't have to but he does. Big shout out to the DM, Scott! Thank you. The cool thing is for the event I get to take photos for the store getting all of our wins, eating pizza that is catered to us, showing off our tattoos and hanging outside of work without being in our uniforms!
If you missed the last years bowling night then smash that picture above and check it out!
Best Buy is a little more than just blue shirts walking around the store pretending to be FBI agents with their slick walkie talkis, if we rewind to 1966 where Richard Schulze and a business partner found an electronics store called Sound of Music. You can bet this place wasn't like it is today, picture a small Radio Shack (comment if you remember) and fast forward a few years where it changes it's name to Best Buy and by 1993 it becomes nation's second-largest consumer electronics retailer. We can't forget about Geek Squad which is more-less Best Buy however in 2002 they now come to your home and install anything from home appliances to home entertainment for you families to Netflix and chill!
Fast forward like a lot because Best Buy every year takes us bowling which is super awesome! I love that our DM does this for us because not only do I feel it's important but our store is pretty awesome which means we're pretty awesome so in a way, it's a good treat for us. I love hanging outside of work with everyone, because in some sort of way it will only make us better at our jobs because this is a chance for all of us to get together and mingle with each other. We can show off your sick ink, wear crazy shoes including the bowling shoes because this is things we can't do in the store. We don't have to worry about customers coming to our line while we were talking about our bad bone weekend and we can be on our phones - haha.
