Blast From The Past
Before I go into what I did for my mom for Mothers Day, let me tell you a bit about where I'm from and how I grew up. Now I didn't have the best childhood growing up however looking back at it now that I'm 30 I feel I had a great child hood! Sure, we weren't swimming in gold coins like Scrooge McDuck ~ haha! I know my parents did everything that they could with what they had for me and my siblings, Although we were rich in a much different way like having 14 acres to play on with many memories like playing a game called "wolf". We had the luxury of racing go carts and four wheelers, having cow patty wars because I grew up on a farm. Let's not forget about the chores like cleaning the chicken coop, watering the animals, and much more and if we didn't then we got some butt whoopens with a paddle, and let me tell you..it hurt! I grew up in a small rural town called Strain Japan with The average number of students for elementary schools in Missouri is 348, so Strain-Japan is very small considering the class load. When students complete the eighth grade they then go to the Sullivan School District to complete high school which was a thirty minute commute from Strain Japan, luckily we had bus #1 to help us out!
Memories To Last Forever
I honestly haven't done much with my parents or siblings so I thought for my mom that I would get together a family photo shoot because I couldn't really give money however I can give a great memory and a fun time doing it, so why not family portraits!? It's been probably close to a decade since we all have gotten photos done and when we did, it was with Wal*Mart so doing this was definitely a great idea. Most of the morning and day I worked on the website and getting together last weeks WANDERING WEDNESDAY and then around 1pm I started to head to the Sullivan Area to see family and wish the mothers a happy day and then at 5pm see my mom. We started by getting photos around the property because the farm has been in the family for generations and I felt it was necessary to get photos around the 14 acres that we own. Hitting up the major spots like the pear tree, blue barn, the bbq pit, and few other spots around. After about taking an hour and half on the land we decided to go hit up the Sullivan City Lake which is a good place to do portraits because of the fountain, geese and open green fields allow some vibrant and colorful photos and considering it's a popular spot in the Sullivan community because this is where events are held like the fair and pageants.
A MOTHERS DAY W/MY MOM VLOG
Message To My Mom..
If you haven't already checked out the VLOG so you can get a better feel of how our time went together, it was so much fun to hang with you, having Tommy, Jessica and my niece to share the memory. I dont't know about you, but I had a great time doing this and creating the content so others can see how we roll. We don't get to do this often and I hope to make that change and do a lot more in the future. I know I don't say this enough, but if you read this mom, I love you and can't appreciate you no more than what I can, there isn't enough love in the world that can describe how I feel about you all. All I can say, is you're the real MVP in the world, you have way more strength than me and anyone I know. You lost my father, my dad, and another. You had me, Tommy, Jessica and now helping with my niece. I think you are the toughest chick there is. I hope you had fun and remember this for life times to come. If you guys need anything, I'll do anything in my power to help, you deserve the break.
- Much love, Jerm
