FAMILY IS WHERE THE HOME IS AT
Ryan and I had two options to do, we could have explored the abandoned YMCA or go back home and show REbecca Jane what spelunking is. So since family is also down there we decided to show her spelunking which is the exploration of caves, especially as a hobby. Missouri is a midwestern U.S. state covered by grassy plains and the forested Ozark Mountains. Kansas City, on the Kansas border, has jazz clubs, the National World War I Museum and the Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art, with giant shuttlecock sculptures on its lawn. As you know that St. Louis, is on the Illinois border, is known for its 630-ft. Gateway Arch overlooking the Mississippi River. If you don't know who REbecca jane is then I urge you to go check out her instagram feed, she's always on some sort of adventure so go see what she comes up with next.
show me state and the cave state
Missouri, long known as the “Cave State,” has almost 6,400 caves and Missouri state parks showcases four of the best for public tours. The four are Onondaga Cave and Cathedral Cave at Onondaga Cave State Park, Fisher Cave at Meramec State Park and Ozark Caverns at Lake of the Ozarks State Park. We actually don't live but ten minutes from the Onondaga case where it's like in our back yard. The funny thing is ten minutes may sound like a good distance but when you live in the rural towns ten minutes seems super close to us because the nearest towns are a good twenty to forty minutes away vs everything being condensed in the bigger cities.
people of the mountain
Onondaga Cave State Park is a Missouri state park located on the Meramec River approximately 5 miles (8.0 km) southeast of the village of Leasburg. The park was established in 1982 and in 1904 it was given the name Onondaga cave because it comes from the Iroquois Indian tribe meaning "people of the mountain". Today you can visit the cave and take a paid tour seeing all the major spots of the cave, but we didn't do that due to that fact we know a lot of spots to visit where you can go in. Many people enjoy visiting caves. Most take commercial cave tours, but some people enjoy exploring wild caves. These people are called cavers or spelunkers. Now we aren't the brightest crayons in the box because we didn't use the proper gear while we spelunked but if you really wanna take it on a next level then you should probably get the proper safety equipment. Caves can be dangerous so wear hard hats and always have extra lights. One of the most things to keep in mind is to be alert not to damage anything while inside, because we still want to protect the gorgeous calcite deposits and critters that are inside. There are many importances to caves but one big one in my opinion is that many people in these areas rely on caves because they provide the water for the wells.
