Chicago: Going OTE Tour
Meeting with the Pro's!
When we finally arrived to Chicago, Il. which was roughly (5) five hour drive. - We actually got here early. The drive there is always a blast because it's those times that i cherish the most. You can play games, take video or pictures of the trip, have long discussions and conversations, and don't forget the naps! When we got there we had to wait a little while for the pro athletes got there, they were running late - haha.
WE placed the Buckingham Fountain as a meeting spot.
What is the OTE Tour?
Off The Edge World Tour is the largest Freerunning & Parkour tour ever created and executed. Season 1 (http://tinyurl.com/OffTheEdgeSeason1) of #GoingOTE took place in Europe and quickly established itself as an event that should not be missed. 100's of like minded Freerunners will ascend on a local spot or gym and throw down together.
A little more and what went down!
Before I go in detail I want to thank Cory and Jesse for the opportunity and what they are doing through this tour. the Chicago, IL: Going Off the Edge tour. The tour is a freerunning documentary "From Here To There", A film about Friendship, freerunning and following your dreams.
I urge you to go and check out Off The Edge:
facebook page HERE - lots of cool goodies and information. documentary facebook: HERE
and check out all the awesome going in there. At the very end of the blog I have a video trailer of the documentary so be sure to check that out and have an idea of what this will be like!
A little more of what went down..!
Since we got there so early we decided to scout and adventure the areas hitting up popular iconic spots, good places to eat, parkour locations, and we got some pictures while we did.
if you like these past few blogs that I've posted then please help me keep it going buy checking out Triumph's shop or by sharing this to your friends or family for them to see. that slick shirt I'm wearing comes in (XS) Extra-Small, (S) Small, (M) Medium, and (L) Large. They are made of 50% cotton/50% polyester and machine washable.
We all met up at the fountain in Downtown Chicago, if you have trouble finding it then please use the map above and map it out - use these pictures as a good idea you're in the right place.
After finishing up at the fountain we all huddled together and had a small discussion where they introduced themselves, talked about what they are doing and why, educated us on how we can contribute and how we can pass that knowledge to others.
and to the CHICAGO, IL Skate Park!
After few hours filming, meeting/greeting, socializing and of course training we all get together and decide on where we are going next, which was the skate park. Along our way we stopped here and there if we saw something worth grabbing.
When we got to the Skate PArk..
after a couple hours we made it to the skate park which was very easy to find, you just walk down from the fountain. There are lots of parkour opportunities here so be sure check out Claire Wiley's new video either at the Triumph's YouTube or in this blog. If you want to know more about her then take a look at her profile at Triumph's website.
And Show Begins..!
After our time at the skate park training and hanging with everyone we got split up into groups. One group went with the pro's to eat and ride in the O.T.E. bus to the theater and the other went to the theater where we watched the documentary as a sneak peak.
Monday, April 20 8:00PM - 9:20PM at AMC Showplace Galewood 14 we got a chance to have a sneak peak to watch a screening of the acclaimed Freerunning Documentary "From Here To There". A film directed by Jesse La Flair & Cory DeMeyers. The documentary is absolutely beautiful and was great to watch and see all the different communities come together. If you don't do parkour or have a negative perspective on it, then this is something you should watch to get an idea of why so many people practice it.
